Our History
The journey of Jarrell Contractors began in 1920, when Mr. A.L. Jarrell, Sr. and his sons opened and established a metal machine shop, which primarily catered to the emerging automotive markets. As the great depression arrived and deflated the local auto market in the late 1920's and early 1930's, they utilized knowledge and experiences to develop a tubular truss building method nearly 30 years prior to the rise of "pre-engineered" metal buildings.
The truss design of A.L. Jarrell allowed for larger clear span buildings than previously possible, over the next 20 years A.L. Jarrell & Sons Construction built airport hangers and warehouses throughout the southeast utilizing their tubular truss design.
During that same time, A.L. Jarrell & Sons developed building expertise in various other types of commercial construction methods in addition to metal buildings.
Since the 1960's, we have been a true full service general contractor, successfully completing projects in numerous industries; including Religious, Automotive, Manufacturing, Medical, Office/Retail and Educational to name a few.
In 1992, as ownership was transferred into the third generation, our name was changed from A.L. Jarrell & Sons to Jarrell Contractors, which we operate as today.
